“Now I beseech you, brethren for the Lord Jesus Christ sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me.” (Rom.15:30)

 God has given to every believer a new ministry called the ministry of the Love of the Spirit.

The disciples asked Jesus, who then can be saved? Jesus replied “Strive to enter in at the straight gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.”

(Luke 13:24,25).

The word strive means to make every effort possible. We are living in a time were we must discipline ourselves to love the Spirit of God more than anything in our life.

This new ministry is called the new covenant, the more excellent way. It is the ministry of the Love of the Spirit, and it is also called the promise of His Spirit.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world: but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:16,17).

This subject of Spirit of Love is the unselfish deeds we do for God and for others. The inner man, the hidden man of our heart is where the Spirit of God lives and he is the Love of God.

God is love and he gave his all for the whole world when he gave his Son Jesus Christ. The Father and the Son have both demonstrated and shown their great love for the world to see. The love of the Father and the love of the Son now lives in us because God has given us His Spirit of Love..

We live in a world that is growing darker and darker in sin and wickedness. War and violence, terror and fear have gripped our own land and hearts. The Love of God is the only answer.

There can be found no weapon made by human hands to defeat this great evil and darkness, but the Love of God. God is the Spirit of Love and that makes him Love itself. His Spirit of Love alone can conquer Evil. God is love. Jesus is Love and the Holy Spirit is Love. Only Love will win in the end.

The only way we will ever be Over Comers is by God’s Loving Spirit. That love between the Father and the Son is the Love of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit of Love.

The Love of God is only found in the Holy Spirit, so both the outpouring and infilling of the Holy Spirit is the manifestation of God’s Love.

It is the same Love that the Father loves the Son with and now rests on and in you and me and it is his desire is to fill us with his Spirit of Love day by day.

The Spirit of Love is called the new man, the inner man, the new creature, the new heart and the new life. We are born again creatures of his Love, mercy, grace, kindness, longsuffering, gentleness, meekness, patience, and peace.

God’s love is not just some doctrine which we are to just believe on with our hearts and heads. God’s love is what we become when we are born of his Spirit. We become vessels of his love for this world, the poor, the needy, the humble, and the afflicted. The broken hearted, the weak, the weary, those who are in prison, the naked, the hungry, the beaten, battered, depressed, oppressed, enslaved, war scared and the ungodly.

“The Love of God is poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit which has been given to us.” (Romans 5:5)

We are called to be co-laborers and co-workers of God’s Love. We become bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh when we are made partakers of his divine nature. We are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus, and we should earnestly seek to know the love of Christ that passes all understanding, so that we might be filled with the love of God. (Eph:3:19)

It is a commandment to be filled with God’s love if you are his child and chosen. We are his ambassadors, his representatives, and we speak to humanity in behalf of the Father and the Son by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are to be rooted and grounded in Christ love. It is the only foundation that we can build on or ever stand on in these last days. (Eph:3:17)

We have all grown in knowledge, but have we grown and increased in our love for God and the lost and needy? Love is the Royal Law of Liberty. Love is the Law of the Spirit of Life. We can have all the knowledge and all the gifts, but if we have not the Love of God in our hearts for God and for others, then we have nothing. We are only sounding brass and tinkling cymbal. (I Cor: Chapter 13.)

When will we ever learn that the only weapon that will ever bring real peace to our hearts and to this world is God’s Love. We’ve got to much religion and very little real love of God in our hearts. Do we bless our enemies and curse them not?

Jesus said; “I have somewhat against you, because you have left your first love.” (Rev: 2:4) God offered his love to us while we were still sinners and children of wrath. We are saved by God’s Love alone, which is only by Grace.

Jesus said; The greatest commandment of all is to Love the Lord Thy God with all thy heart mind, soul and strength, and to love thy neighbor as thyself.”

We are still our bothers keeper whether we want to admit it or not. God’s Love is kind, suffers all things and bears all things. We need to repair and rebuild our Christian lives in acts of love for fallen humanity. We are God’s visible expression of his Mercy, Grace and Love. What kind of Jesus do we present to the world we live in day by day?

They have screamed at me from their cars as I walked with the cross and cursed me, slandered me, and they have disdained me and have despised me in their churches and spoken evil of me and my work of walking with the cross.

I got fed up with it all one day and told the Lord it wasn’t working and that I was not doing any good dragging that cross. I gave God all my excuses, and while I was complaining he spoke right back to me.

“You only put up with what I allow to approach you each day. I put up with the whole world every day. Shut up and do your job. You do not know the meaning of the word longsuffering. If I am willing to put up with all the wickedness that goes on in this world today, then you can put up with what I’ve allowed to approach you.

Besides all that, I’m not in a hurry like you are to give up, quit and walk away. I’ve given my best and that is my love by giving my Son Christ Jesus as a human sacrifice for them all. I will not pour out my wrath and judge this world until they have utterly rejected my love. I’ve done the only work where by a person can be saved.”

Can the world see the Love of Jesus Christ in you? We are his witnesses and so is the Holy Spirit which God has given to us who have believed and obeyed him. How can we say we love God who we cannot see and hate our brother who we can see? Oh God help me be merciful and a more loving witness for you in 2004.
